True Ukrainian hospitality and delicious food. A latte cost me more than $6. The price is a bit high, but the taste was good.

This is the hardest review I've ever had to give. The place is beautiful, the service is excellent, the presentation of the dishes is exceptional, the atmosphere is very pleasant, but we didn't like the food :( To give it a second chance, we've been back twice, once for a savory breakfast and the second time for dessert. The coffees are very good, but we feel the dishes lack flavor... I'm thinking the place has always been full of Ukrainians, and they probably cook with a very local flavor, I guess.

Syrniki - 2 stars Bumble latte - 5 stars Cherry blossom latte - 3 stars With heat warnings flashing all over the city, we ducked into a Ukrainian café. The space had a calming, minimalistic vibe with natural light pouring in, wheat bundles and Ukrainian art adorning the walls, and a quiet freshness that made it feel like a small modern cultural retreat. I’m giving it 4 stars mainly because the Cherry Blossom Latte and Syrnyky didn’t quite meet expectations otherwise it’s a cute cafe and must visit. Bumble Coffee was easily the highlight: espresso, vanilla syrup, and orange juice — a bold combo that worked beautifully. Zesty, smooth, and utterly refreshing, it nailed the balance and felt made for hot days like this. The Cherry Blossom Latte, while elegant in presentation, didn’t quite deliver the same spark. The flavor was a bit too muted for my liking. We were also excited for the Syrnyky — but at $18 for just three pieces, the portion felt small. While beautifully plated, they were on the dry side (felt not fresh and too much flour than cheese) and lacked the richness of cottage cheese we were hoping for. Even the sour cream didn’t lift it much. That said, the service was warm, the vibe was fresh and thoughtfully Ukrainian, and the overall experience was enjoyable — especially for the drinks and the setting. I’m giving it only 4 stars mainly because the Cherry Blossom Latte and Syrnyky didn’t quite meet expectations.

Just recently visited Kolo Cafe for the first time, and it will be definitely not the last time! Coffee and food are really delicious in here and the dish presentation was 10/10. I will say though that the portions are somewhat small if you are planning on having a brunch (although depends on your preference), but good enough for a quick bite with coffee! Would 100% recommend and will most likely spend half of the summer out there!

If you’re looking for an authentic Ukrainian café in Toronto, this is the place to visit! The menu offers a great selection of Ukrainian delicacies, paired with excellent coffee. I visited during peak hours, yet the service remained top-notch—efficient, friendly, and welcoming. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a coffee break or a relaxed meal. Whether you’re familiar with Ukrainian cuisine or trying it for the first time, you’ll feel right at home here. Highly recommend!

There are cafés that serve food and then there are places like Kolo, where each dish feels like a page from someone’s family cookbook, written with love and passed down through generations. Located on Jane Street, Kolo Café calls itself a Ukrainian soul café, and that’s exactly what it feels like: soulful, heartfelt, and rooted in warmth. It's a place where the clink of cutlery, the scent of fresh cottage cheese and espresso, and the gentle hum of conversation feel like home, even if you're discovering these dishes for the first time. The Okroshka, a cold kefir soup, was refreshing and surprisingly comforting: a dish that transported you straight to an Eastern European summer. The Lazy Varenyky, soft dumplings with a hint of cottage cheese sweetness, were fluffy and filling, while the Classic Syrnyky made us pause with every bite: golden, tender, and just the right amount of indulgent. Visited Kolo Cafe recently and it was wonderful! The place is cozy and charming and the service was friendly and quick! The coffee and food was delicious! My Ukrainian girlfriend said the cafe resembled ones like from her home, and that the food and coffee was just like from home too. We had lattes, salmon/egg toast, lazy varynyky (which we both loved, perfect comfort food!) and syrnyky. Everything was great except that the place is a little small. Hope to visit again soon!
